COLORADO WONDERS
What do you wonder about Colorado? We ask this question on air, on our website and at live events throughout
the year. We receive multiple questions per week from our audience, and CPR News seeks out as many answers
as we can. This year, one of our Colorado Wonders stories was the second-most-read story on our website for the
entire year. People are really wondering about the Oklahoma panhandle!

COLORADO POSTCARDS
COLORADO MATTERS
In the fall, Dr. Kim Walter, the digital teacher librarian at Shelton
Elementary School in Golden, reached out to tell us she wanted
to use Colorado Postcards with her students. She contacted
Colorado Postcards creators Gillian Coldsnow and Jon Pinnow,
who met with the students virtually to kick off the project. Then,
the kids got to work researching topics, writing scripts, creating
artwork, editing and eventually recording their own postcards.
Colorado Matters launched “Aging Matters,” a regular segment that
explores the issues around aging in Colorado. With these stories,
Colorado Matters tackles such topics as avoiding scams, building
intergenerational connections and how Colorado’s demographic
changes affect everyone.
From these recordings and drawings, Gillian and Jon chose two
topics to turn into official Colorado Postcards. They then visited
the school in person with recording equipment to record about
two dozen third graders reading the scripts.

Colorado Matters
continues to deliver great
content; just listened to
