LETTER
FROM THE PRESIDENT
As I write this letter, it’s been just over a year since we
announced the purchase of the building at 777 Grant Street in
Denver, which will eventually become our new headquarters.
We’re well underway with planning our future, and I can’t wait
for the day when we open the doors to the community for
panels, concerts, tapings and discussions. It will be a place
where we demonstrate physically that Colorado Public Radio
is for the public, and we look forward to seeing you there.
In the meantime, I remain incredibly proud of the work CPR
does day-in and day-out to bring in-depth news, great music
and powerful experiences to Coloradans and beyond. In this
report, you’ll see glimpses of that work, and I invite you to visit
cpr.org daily for so much more.
& CEO
This work is all the more impressive as this year we undertook
significant cost cutting measures and implemented a
reduction in staff to align the organization around our news
priority.
Today, CPR is Colorado’s largest nonprofit newsroom,
providing a service that is invaluable to the free flow of
information, news and culture in our community. CPR Classical
and Indie 102.3 celebrate the human spirit with music that in
many cases is a model of how different people can work
together to create something beautiful.
Thank you for being part of this by supporting our work — it
makes everything we do possible.
Sincerely,
Stewart Vanderwilt
LETTER
FROM THE FY24 CHAIR OF
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As my time on Colorado Public Radio’s board of directors has
come to a close, I am confident I’m leaving it in good hands as
Lori Bergen takes over as chair for the next two fiscal years.
In my term as chair, I saw CPR emerge from the pandemic,
battle misinformation, grow its reach and confront challenging
financial circumstances for the media nationwide.
The services CPR provides are vital to the civic health
of our communities. The news helps people feel connected to
what’s going on around them and holds their elected officials
accountable. The music provides inspiration, companionship
and feelings of joy. And CPR’s events bring people closer
to their neighbors, helping them learn something new and
explore the issues of the day. CPR’s ability to do all of this
is unmatched in Colorado, and I am eager to see how it
continues to grow in the future.
Thank you to my fellow board members, to Stewart Vanderwilt
and the staff, and to everyone who donates to keep these
important public services strong for all Coloradans. While I’m
no longer serving on the board, I remain a loyal listener and
reader, like so many in our community.
Sincerely,
Bradley Greenwald
